HR Systems Assistant
Support Council's HR systems, maintain accurate employee data, resolve user issues and assist with reporting and process improvements.

Working within the People and Culture team, you will help maintain accurate employee, payroll and position data while providing responsive system support to internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with administering Council’s HRIS and talent management platform.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of employee, payroll and position-establishment data.
- Process employee and position movements within HR systems.
- Conduct data, leave and Long Service Leave audits.
- Produce routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards and employee documentation.
- Assist with managing user permissions and system access.
- Respond to system incidents and user-support requests.
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex matters to external vendors.
- Prepare procedure notes, user guides and self-service resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR systems and administrative processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with Council policies and recordkeeping requirements.

- Experience providing application or systems-administration support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to support stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Confidence working with external system vendors.
- A customer-focused and collaborative approach.
- The ability to handle confidential employee information appropriately.
- Previous experience using or supporting an HRIS or talent management system.
- Knowledge of HR and payroll processes.
- Local government or public-sector experience.
- Experience preparing reports and dashboards.
- Knowledge of user permissions and system-access controls.
- Experience documenting procedures or developing user guides.
